Chi Hsieh

Chairman

Dr. Chi Hsieh is the Chairman and co-founder of Microelectronics Technology Inc. In 1983, Dr. Hsieh joined MTI as the Vice President of Sales and later served as its President from 1985 to 1999. With more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development in the wireless communication industry, Dr. Hsieh has successfully established many of the company’s most substantial strategic partnerships and business initiatives since the company’s founding. Prior to MTI, Dr. Hsieh was the Director of the Microwave Circuit Department in the Farinon Division of Harris Corporation, USA. Dr. Hsieh obtained his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Santa Clara, U.S.A.

 

Allen Yen

President/CEO

Mr. Allen Yen was appointed President & COO in 2005, and was promoted to CEO in August 2007. Mr. Yen’s work with MTI began in 1990 as a RF design engineer. He also served as the VP of Marketing and Sales from 1997 to 2004. Mr. Yen has since held many distinguished roles, including: Engineering Supervisor, involved in the development of various Microwave Power Amplifiers, Microwave Radios and Satellite Communication Products; Engineering Director and VSAT Business Leader, responsible for leading the Product Development team, the Product Sustaining team, and VSAT business development; and Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, responsible for Corporate Development and Strategic Planning. Prior to joining MTI, Mr. Yen worked with the Radio Company of America (RCA-Taiwan branch) for 4 years. He holds a M.B.A. from the National Chiao Tung University and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University.

 

Shu-Huei Fuong

Vice President

Mr. Fuong joined Microelectronics Technology Inc. as the CFO in November 2003. He currently acts as the Vice President in charge of external affairs, legal affairs, HR and General Administration. Previously, Mr. Fuong served as the Principle and Senior Corporate Banker for the Bank of America. He has over 20 years of working experience in financial management. Prior to that, Mr. Fuong spent more than 10 years as a Principle credit officer working throughout Europe and Asia. He holds a degree of Diplom-Volkswirt (Chartered Economist) from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University, Bonn, Germany.

 

Hualin Chi

Chief Finance Officer

Ms. Hualin Chi joined Microelectronics Technology Inc. in 1994 and was promoted to acting CFO in June 2010. She currently also holds the role of MTI’s spokesperson and Secretary of Board. Prior to becoming the CFO, Ms. Chi was MTI’s corporate treasurer for many years. Ms. Chi has taken on many challenging tasks and projects during her time with MTI, including long-term investment management – such as M&As and MTI’s China Wuxi project, fund raising, and tax planning. Ms. Chi has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance management and securities investments, and holds an MBA from the University of Florida, USA, and a BS degree in Business Administration from National Cheng Chi University in Taiwan.

 

Allen Chen

Vice President and General Manager of Radio Division

Mr. Allen Chen joined MTI as a senior product manager in April 1998 and was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Radio division in June 2002. Previously, Mr. Chen worked for Tellus Group, Telxon Technology Corp. (later merged with Symbol Technology and Motorola), and Tandy Electronics in Texas. He has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, and manufacturing management in the telecommunication and computer industries. Mr. Chen holds a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas, U.S.A. and a B.S. degree from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.

 

Dunga Wu

SCM Vice President

Mr. Wu joined MTI as the Production Control Engineer (PC) in 1994. From 1997 to 2006, Mr. Wu played many different roles including, Manufacturing Manager of VSAT production lines, Sales Manager, Purchasing Manager and SCM Director. Because of his invaluable expertise in operational management, Mr. Wu was appointed Vice President of the SCM Department. He holds a M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering and Management of Civil Engineering from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.

 

Hunter Huang

Engineering Vice President

Mr. Hunter Huang joined MTI in 1988 as a RF Design Engineer. He was promoted to Engineering Vice President in June 2007 after effectively working as the Engineering Manager and Director for many years. While at MTI, Mr. Huang was integral in developing various products, not limited to, Digital Radio XCVRs, Satellite communication products, WCDMA BTS’, and RFID Readers. Mr. Huang holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Feng Chia University in Taiwan.

 

Dr. George G. Ling

President MTI Laboratory, Inc., Head of MTI Mobile R&D

Dr. George Ling has been President of MTI Laboratory, Inc. since MTI’s acquisition of TelASIC Communications in 2009. With more than 33 years of experience in high-tech communications product development, he specializes in satellite communications and digital signal processing. Earlier, Dr. Ling was Vice President of Research and Development for Global PCS Inc./MTI Group, responsible for the development of high-efficiency Multi-Carrier Power Amplifiers for GSM, cdma2000, WCDMA, and WiMAX. Prior to MTI, he was with CSIST Taiwan. Dr. Ling holds a BS degree from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, and MS and PhD degrees from the University of Southern California.

 

Wilhelm Heger

Sr. V. P. Customer Relationship, MTI Laboratory, Inc.

In his new role, Customer Relationship, Wilhelm will directly interface between the MTI Mobile R&D team and their Customers. Previously, Wilhelm was responsible for driving product realization across our mobile products design centers in the US, Denmark and Taiwan. Wilhelm has been part of the MTIL team for more than a decade, including his time at TelASIC Communications, Inc. prior to MTI’s acquisition in June, 2009. He was previously with Opuswave Networks, a subsidiary of Siemens, where he was VP of Product Management and Business Development. Prior to working with Opuswave, Wilhelm was VP of Business Development for the Fixed Wireless Access Business Unit of Siemens, and has worked for Siemens in both the US and Germany in a variety of GSM and wireless business units. Wilhelm has over 20 years of engineering and systems management experience, and was instrumental in establishing Siemens’ market presence for GSM networks. He holds a BA in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Applied Science Giessen in Germany.

 

Dr. Khiem Cai

Sr. V. P. Technology, MTI Laboratory, Inc.

Dr. Khiem Cai is responsible for the development of the leading edge technologies at MTI. Dr. Cai’s expertise are in software-defined radio communications and non-linear signal processing technologies, that are well applied to MTI’s mobile products. Dr. Cai is the architect for MTI’s RRH system solution for WCDMA, LTE, CDMA2000 and WiMAX, and is also responsible for the development of the company’s Radio Digital Chip (RDC), which is the cornerstone for MTI’s common platform RRH/TRDU system. Dr. Cai was formerly with Raytheon, where he was a Senior Fellow responsible for numerous developments in multiband-multimode communications and the Global Positioning System III (GPS III) precision weapon guidance system. He has published more than 20 technical papers in professional journals, and holds over 23 US patents with three pending patents that reflect the newest discovery in MCPA linearization and universal software-defined radio. Dr. Cai holds an MS and PhD degree from Purdue University.
